Antony And The Johnsons will release a new Swanlights EP digitally and on 10-inch vinyl on April 26, and a CD release will follow. If you want to pick it up before it's technically out, you can get the vinyl on April 16, which is Record Store Day. It's got a remix of the title track from last year's Swanlights, along with two B-sides.
There's been a lot of confusion about just what Japanese metallers Boris are doing this spring, so let's clear things up: They are releasing two new albums. They're called Attention Please and Heavy Rocks. The latter album does have the same title as a 2002 album of seven-inch singles originally released by Southern Lord. Both albums will be out April 26.
System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian has written the music for Prometheus Bound, a new musical about fighting tyranny and dictatorships. Which is fine, as long as he doesn't sing. It premieres Feb. 25 at Oberon in Cambridge, Mass. and runs until April 2. You can buy tickets here.
All-American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter has started an organization called Don't Hate On Haiti which is working to provide relief to Haitians affected by last year's devastating earthquake and other natural disasters in the country. Music exec Steve Stoute took a letter out in The New York Times on Sunday in which he lambasted the Grammy Awards for giving Arcade Fire the album of the year award, saying it was strange they performed right before and after they won it. Now Arcade Fire's manager's rebutted Stoute's letter, saying the band deserved the Grammy and only performed at the end because that's when ratings are the lowest. ?Brooklyn Vegan
